The only ethnographic museum about the Basque country.
In the heart of the historical centre of Bayonne, the only ethnographic museum about the Basque country houses some 2,000 objects and artworks.
This collection bears witness to the identity and functioning of Basque society, history and traditions. It also tells the story of Bayonne, a sea and river port, where the Basque, Gascon and Jewish cultures come together.
The museum conserves an important stock of graphic art: postcards, engravings, drawings, posters…
It is based in a seventeenth-century Bayonne house, the Maison Dagourette. The museum presents temporary exhibitions every year.
