Pau Golf Club
One km West of Pau, alongside the « Gave de Pau » mountain river, the Pau Golf Club is
nestled at the foot of Henry IVth’s Castle, the Pyrenees and the Jurançon vines.
The oldest club in continental Europe was built by Scotsmen in 1856.
Pau was the first course in Europe outside the British Isles and its history is linked to that of the city. During the 19th century, the mild climate made Pau one of the favourite holiday destination for the British. They marked the city with elegant villas, beautiful parks and, most important to golf fanatics, this 5,312 metres par 69 18 hole course.
The "so-British" atmosphere and the clubhouse, a genuine museum, will charm all visitors. A historical course not to miss !
