Regional Flavors

The Bearn-Basque Country vineyards are small but famous for their exceptionally high quality. The rich soils produce wines full of subtle fruit aromas and extraordinary flavours. The hand worked vines are a well guarded tradition, not only meriting but holding the French reputation of world class wines.

Bearn Favorites

PacherencThe highly sought after Gros and Petit Manseng grapes are found here in the Southwest, representing the authentic French savoir-faire and Bearnais spirit.

Dry wines often use the vigorous Gros Manseng grapes, these wines are at their best when served as aperitifs or paired with seafoods.

Regional Petit Manseng grapes are ideal for the delicious sweet wines. The local flavours are remarkably concentrated and when savoured; hint to exotic spicing and complex fruit and nut mixtures. The sweet wines are delectable aperitifs and perfect when paired with fois gras or cheeses.

The Bearnais Juraçon white wines can compete with the best Sauternes, Madirans are full-bodied and hearty reds and the Pacherenc from Vic Bilh is both dry and fruity. The local Bearn - Bellocq rose wines are ideal for sunny afternoons and picnicking.

Basque treasures Jurançon vines

As the unique wine of the Basque Country, the Irouleguy is the genuine flavour of the Southwest. The vines warmed by nearby Spain and safely watched over by the towering Pyrenees mountain ranges, offer reds, roses and whites of distinguished Basque quality.
