Anglet beaches11 sand beaches starting from the l'Adour river mouth in the north to the Biarritz lighthouse ‘Phare'. La Barre, les Cavaliers, Les Dunes, L'Océan, La Madrague, La Petite Madrague, Les Corsaires, Marinella, Les Sables d'Or, Le Club and Le VVF.

Globally acclaimed for their quality, Anglet's waves are round and powerful.


The film Evolution shot in the 1970's made La Barre and Anglet famous.  Previously known as the ‘spot mythic' the right pointbreak awe struck the world with its legendary waves.  When the harbour was extended and a dike installed, the wave lost much of its glory and fame.  Today the break is still considered good, but it takes a big swell to get the waves going.
